Robust car tether

We needed something with some grunt for our leggy 26kg Poodle/Black Russian girl for our car trips. This fits the bill. Well made, adjusts easy enough and I'll get the hang of the laocking carabiner thing!! Great service as alwyas when ordered. Thanks Sammy!

LOVE this headrest car tether!!!!

I had been searching for ages for a decent head rest tether, because Diesel gets caught up in the seat belt attach tethers. I did come across one in Australia so ordered that, but then came across Arctic Sammy. Where have you been all my life lol!! It is such great and durable quality, love the colour in this Pukaki range, and works an absolute treat. It arrived the day after ordering it, meaning I could use it for our big road trip from Wellington to New Plymouth that was the following week. The one I found from Australia was delivered to my home about 4 days after I left so it wasn't any good. If you still need a tether set up for your pups' safety, run, don't walk - you NEED one of these.

Safety is everything

I was both thrilled and sad when I put the strap in my car. Sad because the one I had been using was not up to the standard needed to keep my girl safe. Completely confident in Arctic Sammy.

Awesome product!

This product gives me peace of mind when traveling in the car with my dog. I love that the tether has both a seatbelt compatible clip and a carabiner - it's so versatile. The tether is a great length for my tall 30kg dog. Awesome product!

Essential gear

This has saved us so much headache! Keeps our dog safely in the car and stops him jumping out the second any door is opened

MOST COMMON QUESTIONS

You have 3 options how to tether your dog in your car:

Option 1: Tether onto the headrest. This is especially useful for dogs who move around a lot as it keeps the tether away from your dogs legs and therefore tangle-free.

Option 2: Tether onto the seat belt clip. This is useful to prevent your dog from jumping from the backseats into the boot or onto the front seats.

Option 3: Boot tether. If your dog travels in your boot, then this is your preferred tether option. Simply attach the dog car tether to one of the child seat tether points.

Yes and we highly recommend it. A puppy does not know how to behave in a car (yet) and can get spooked easily by strange noises or movements. It also prevents your pup from sliding off the backseats!

It is a great tool to prevent your dog from jumping out of the car or boot the second you open the doors. You can get your leash sorted, check for traffic and teach your dog to stay put without having to worry about him starting his walk without you.

No. We have designed the Car tether to keep your dog from moving freely around the car. This can cause drivers distractions which is the most common cause for accidents involving dogs in cars.
