MOST COMMON QUESTIONS

This depends on your dog's breed, weight and size. Have a look at our sizing chart and sizing corner to find the right fit! If you are still unsure and don't want to get it wrong, simply send us a message and we'll get back to you asap.

No. We have designed our Adventure Harness specifically for dog's who love to run, hike, swim and enjoy life to the fullest! It is not restrictive and does not block the shoulder blades.

Yes! Our harness is made of fast drying and lightweight mesh that won't soak up much water. All metal parts are stainless steel and rust free to avoid corrosion through salt water.

We recommend giving your harness a quick rinse once you come back from a beach to remove sand and salt water.

The front ring helps to reduce pulling when used correctly - have a look at our blog post. If your dog pulls and is still in training, we would recommend using a harness as it reduces the pressure on the neck.

There is no guarantee that it will reduce pulling and it always depends on the dog, owner and the right training.

Yes, the Adventure Dog Harness is great for puppies! We recommend using a combination of harness and collar for a young dog to get him used to wearing both walking setups.

Best Harness

Love this for my rescue dog who is tricky to get a harness over her head. She doesn't fuss at this one.

Really high quality and comfortable.

Perfect design for my Boxers Pups

This harness is perfect for my Boxer puppies. Purchased large sizes ( pups are 5 months old) but this size is still a bit large ( for strap around belly past ribs) so purchasing a medium for now. The large will suit when they are over 8 months old and grown in length.
The designs works great as allows all the goofy movements Boxers love to do with no restrictions and is nice and sturdy and best of all, doesn't overheat them when wearing.

Amazing dog harness for our puppy

We were looking for a Y shaped dog harness and we love this one. Our border collie Sammie is wearing it since he was 10 weeks. We adjusted the strips to smallest size. It was still a little too big. But 2 weeks later he grew into it. The handle is super helpful to correct Sammie and we don’t have to worry about hurting his neck. Photo with Sammie sitting was with 10 weeks and 6.5 kilo, the other photo was Sammie with 12 weeks (8 kilo)

Dobie Shark, do do do do do

Love this harness for our juvenile Doberman land- shark!
The top handle is super handy, the fabric is soft yet strong, and the length going down the back is much more comfortable than shorter brands we've tried.

Why you need a dog harness

For your and for your best friend, dog harnesses have so many benefits. Some of the biggest advantages of choosing the right comfy harness for your pup include:

A strong sense of control

Dog harnesses are perfect for larger-sized dogs like Samoyeds, Labradors and German Shepherds. They let you take control of your dog’s movements and steer him away from unsafe situations without compromising his comfort.

Harnesses are usually much easier on your beloved pet than collars, alleviating back pain and reducing the risk of neck injury. Instead of putting pressure on your dog’s throat, a harness spreads the weight across his whole body. If your dog has sensitive skin or fur, they result in a lot less chafing. While a decent dog collar definitely has its place in your dog’s wardrobe, a harness generally lets you enjoy longer periods of quality time together.

With dog harnesses, you avoid that terrifying moment when your dog almost gives you the slip. Harnesses are made to fit tightly around your dog’s body and to prevent him from escaping without making him uncomfortable. They also make it easier to strap him in on car rides and ensure his protection if you have to come to a sudden stop.

Because they don’t put strain on your dog’s throat, harnesses are perfect for dogs with respiratory conditions or those with a high risk of neck injuries. They can also prevent the worsening of health issues like spinal problems or issues with joints.

Harnesses are larger and easier to spot than collars, which makes them particularly useful when you’re enjoying a walk early in the morning or later in the evening.

Choosing the right size

Choosing the right size harness for your pup is important for his comfort and safety, and the best place to start is by measuring his girth, or chest. When the sizing is right, you should be able to fit two fingers between your dog’s harness and his body. Arctic Sammy has sizing tables on our site to make it easier for you to select the right fit for your pet.

Dog harness colours and styles

Available in vibrant and visible colours like teal, black, olive and pink, Arctic Sammy’s dog harness stands out in every environment. You can keep an eye on your dog at all times, regardless of weather conditions. Take your pick from our five sizes designed to cater for dogs both large and small, from extra-small to extra-large.
