Description

Looking for a comfortable, durable and escape proof collar? You just found it.

Our Martingale collar easily slips over your dogs head and sits comfortably around his neck. No more fiddling around with clips and fur getting stuck in buckles.

When your dog pulls or is tight up, the 8cm slip closes to prevent your dog from escaping or slipping his collar. The collar is safe, does not choke and is designed for permanent use. The limited slip function means that the collar can not continue tightening beyond a certain point (which you adjust as needed) making them safe compared to traditional slip collars which can tighten without limitation. 

Made from NZ made climbing rope materials and equipped with stainless steel fittings - made to withstand any adventure and all elements. 

Made in our Christchurch workshop and backed by a lifetime warranty

Measuring Instructions

For a perfect fit, you must ensure to correctly measure your dog’s head (not your old collar) with a soft measuring tape. If you don’t have one, you can use a piece of string, which you can then lay out against a ruler. Place the tape tightly and snugly around the dog’s head. There should be no extra room between the measuring tape and the head so therefore the “two fingers under the measuring tape” rule does not apply.

 Please do not measure your current collar
When the slip is pulled tight, the collar should be firm and the dog should not be able to back out. If it is pulled to its tightest and your dog can wiggle out, it's too loose. Simply adjust the size accordingly. The collar should not choke your dog.

Please check the product before each use for signs of wear and tear and that it is safe and suitable, as no accessory is indestructible.

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that you will receive your package within the time frame expected. Estimated delivery times are to be used as a guide only and commence from the date of dispatch (make sure you watch out for that dispatch email). Arctic Sammy does not hold responsibility for damaged, lost or stolen packages.

Please note... As the recipient, you are liable for all import duties, customs and local sales taxes levied by the country you are shipping to; payment of these maybe necessary to release your order from customs on arrival. Arctic Sammy will not be held liable for any fees or taxes you may incur or if your product is seized by customs. We advise that you are familiar with your package destination’s import duty, customs and local sales taxes, as well as it’s rules and regulations for importing foreign goods and products. If a delivery attempt has been made and the item was not collected and has been returned to us, you will be required to pay the re-delivery fee and the duty tax for re-import of the purchased items. If the duty tax is more then the value of the purchased items, we will abandon the package.

Please allow up to 3-4 business days for all items purchased through a sale to be packaged and shipped.

 

All New Zealand orders will be shipped with New Zealand Post. You will receive an email confirmation within one business day of your order being dispatched.

International orders will also be shipped with DHL Express or NZ Post for orders over $150NZD.

Lifetime Warranty

Lifetime Warranty - Really?

Yes - as long as you use the dog gear like you would use any other dog gear! As all of us dog owners know, a dog can chew through anything they put their mind to, so as long as you're not giving the lead, collar, or other products to your dog as a chew toy, we can guarantee it'll last forever. Any product that shows obvious signs they've been chewing on the product we cannot cover as it clearly does not fall within the normal use intention stated above. We offer lead and collar repairs should puppy chew threw the gear - just reach out to us mail@arcticsammy.co.nz and we will take care of it.

We'll still cover all manufacturing faults or material defects for as long as the product, materials or components can be expected to last.

Please note: Toys, LED Dog Light and ID Tags are excluded from our Lifetime Warranty.

MOST COMMON QUESTIONS

There are too many good reasons for using a Martingale Collar so we try to keep it short! Great for very fluffy dogs (no tangled fur) and dog's with narrow heads (escape proof). Convenience, safety and comfort - all in one.

Yes! Simply adjust the collar as you would with any other regular collar.

The right size is crucial when using a martingale collar. It should not be too loose and hang down the neck but also not too tight to cause your dog discomfort. As the collar does not open and slips over your dog's head, the head circumference determines the right size for your dog. 

No. The integrated stopper prevents the collar from infinite tightening. This means that once your dog is on leash and pulls, the collar tightens to your desired point. This is not a choking collar and very safe to use when properly adjusted.

We recommend using a flat collar for a puppy. Our adjustable collars are perfect for puppies!
